Ludington's Annual Octoberfest
September 28 & 29, 2018
Visit downtown Ludington and enjoy music and family activities in an outdoor setting, to celebrate one of the last hurrahs of the season!
Here's what happened in 2017:
Bell's Pub Crawl begins the activities Friday night at 5pm at Timbers Bar & Grille where you receive your map. Bars serving Bell's has game activities for you to complete to receive a stamp on your map. 12 business are participating in the Pub Crawl, which ends at The Mitten at 8pm. Drawing for prizes is at 8:30pm and you must be present to win. The cost to enter is $5.
Saturday from noon-2pm (or until chili is gone), satisfy your hunger with delicious chili. Walkers can sample the different varieties at over two dozen locations and vote for their favorites.
Music will be held under a large, heated tent at James Street Plaza from 2-8pm. Admission is just $5 with kids 12 and under free and includes five lawn game tickets. Participate in corn hole, ladder ball, giant bowling and more. Marek Music Makers perform at 2pm, Cory Fischer at 3:30 and don't miss the Chardon Polka Band at 5pm. Bell's beer and wine from Love Wines will be available for purchase.
The Jaycee's kids area will have pumpkin decorating, crafts, magician Joe Rotio at 3pm and free refreshments.
The Q Smokehouse is serving up delicious German-style food. Choose from smoked bratwurst with sauerkraut and mustard...or apple cider smoked pork loin sandwich with apple horseradish slaw. Sides include warm German style potato salad, Spaetzle with bacon roasted brussel sprouts, soft pretzel with smoked beer cheese or scratch made mustard, and Cheddar Beer Soup.

Craft Beer is Big Business
Ludington is making a name for itself with its own brewery in town and other popular bars offering a variety of craft beer. Ludington is also the venue for the Suds on the Shore Craft Beer & Wine Festival, usually held mid-August and the Pure Ludington Brrrewfest which is generally held in January.
