Michigan Lighthouse Festival

August

Big Sable Point Lighthouse celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2017 and a special weekend of events took place to honor the occasion.

The Michigan Lighthouse Festival was held August 25-27, 2017. This is a traveling festival, and next year's venue will be in Paradise, MI August 3, 4 & 5, 2018. The weekend began with a dinner and speaker Friday night. This was held at the Stearns Motor Inn with author Patricia Majher speaking about "Ladies of the Light."
Bus transportation was available from the Ludington State Park Office to Big Sable Point Lighthouse from 12pm-5pm on Saturday; fee is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
A Saturday night concert with Ric Mixter "The Storm" was at 7pm at Peterson Auditorium, Ludington High School.

Vendors set up in Rotary Park, downtown Ludington, from 10am-5pm Saturday and 10am-4pm Sunday.

Sunday featured a brunch for SPLKA members at the Maritime Museum.

Coordinating the anniversary events are the Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association (SPLKA), the Michigan Lighthouse Guide and the Ludington Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. For more information, go to MichiganLighthouseFestival.com
