Fished P.M. Lake for the same reason. The most fish have been caught in there. The lake is all mixed up and many fishing out there are either getting skunked or at most 2-3 little fish. Get out early because they shut rite down after that sun comes through.

Fished first light with all Glow j-plugs and meat on the dipsey divers and a 5 color lead core and a 3 color lead core on the sides with plugs as well. The fish bite early and then completely stop biting once the sun rises

Fishing was really good early out front of Ludington in 30-40' with J-plugs being the lure of choice on 5 color lead cores and 3 color lead cores. Also had both out and down downriggers go at the same time this morning with plugs. The bite was fast and furious than ended for us as fast as it started. Once again get out very early and be ready!

Fishing continues to be very very good. Fished up north in the same place for the last week actually. Plugs again shined tonight on riggers down 15 and 20 ft. We had a cold wind from the north which pushed the cold water in and the fish are in the top 30 which is the reason why the depths have changed. Plugs were also very good on a 5 color lead core and a 3 color lead core. Dreamweaver is making a lot of different color Jplugs now and have been very successful with there plugs in the green spladder back and the natural glow. Fished over 30-50' of water starting in front of the Sauble River.

Still fishing up north of the Sable River. Started out the afternoon trip were we finished off the morning trip and hit a few at the end. Fished in 80-90' of water and took it north about a mile past Big Point Sauble before we turned. We hit 12 fish mostly on high dipsey divers (wires) with big water meat rigs and Dreamweaver spin doctors. The bad part was we only put 3 in the boat. The south troll was just as productive and again we only put a few of those in. This did though start a very nice pile o fish that only grew dramatically as the even bite start in.  Get out early in the mornings and stay late in the afternoon!

Fishing started out absolutely lights out with 5 on at once 10 minutes after I had everything set up. We started out 1 mile south of the Sauble River and trolled it north in front of Big Point Sable Lighthouse. Started out in 80' and worked it north until we turned in 188' about 3 miles north of Big Point Sable. Plugs shined on 300' coppers and 10 colors of leadcore. Meat rigs behind Dreamweaver spin doctors did take a few on dipsey divers but the plugs took the bulk of the fish. The two biggest fish weighed in at 28.6 and 27.2lbs and were registered with the state as Master Anglers.

Again ran south in front of the Ludington Pump Storage plant and about 15 miles off shore. The program was the same as yesterday (top 60ft.) and the fishing was a bit better with the anglers on board boating most of the fish that bit. Don't be afraid to kick the speed up with all the steelhead and coho but the kings seem to bit on the slow side of the boat on turn.

Ran southwest out of Ludington this morning. Started fishing in front of the Ludington Pump storage plant about 15 miles straight out front of the facility. Fished the top 40ft. of water out there. It was a whole lot of fun with the steelhead (rainbow trout) jumping around the crazy coho spin there heads off. Fished mostly Yeck lures in the fireball and double orange crush variety. Also good were dreamweaver ss lures and more yeck lures in the lightning and jarred color. It was a vary long ride out to get um and back but well worth the gas money!

Fishing was a bit slow today. The winds had blown and scattered the fish again. Fished straight out of Ludington in about 200' of water and trolled south west from there. Missed a few on top and caught a few on five color lead cores and a downrigger at 40' down with yeck lightning spoon on the main line and yeck jarred on the stack, ten foot about the ball. Fished south and out again today after yesterdays successful run. Started in the 55s and 36s. and trolled out to the 42 line. Fishing started out vary slow for us, we slowly picked at um all day and had another 10 bites or so. Steelhead were again biting on five color leadcores and 7 color leadcores. Riggers took a few but the seaflees were so bad the only way we could reel them in was if I kept cleaning them off every 15 minutes or so. Yeck fireballs on 5 color, Yeck lightning on 7s. Yeck jarreds and lightnings were my best downrigger at 41ft down.

Real good fishing this morning. Motored out south west of the Ludington channel about 12 miles. Started in the 3700 west line and 5250south line and headed out and south from there. The steelhead were feeding in the top 30ft. of water and coho were from there down to about 50ft. Best was an out and down downrigger set at 41 with a pair of Yeck lures called jarreds. Also a pair of 5 color lead cores went frequently with fireball on one side and double orange crush on the other. Big water meat rigs on high diver took fish out 120 with uv red meat rig on one behind a dreamweaver spin doctor (chrome with glow on back) and the other side, high diver, was a uv blue with blue bubble. Had to really bump up the speed which didn't seem to affect my meat rigs any. It seemed we got more bites going faster but more escaped after biting also.

The seas this morning were in one word rough. We only had one troll to start out in the morning in the 4-6ft. waves and that was with the waves to the north. They cancelled the ladies tournament and the kids as well and only two other charters went out besides myself. The fishing wasn't all that bad though. We set um up in the 00s or south of the Sable River a few miles in about 150ft. of water in the 34,00 line and trolled north with as much of a west as the waves would allow for comfortability reasons. The whole way to the north we just got one here and one there. They were all big beautiful steelhead jumping and pulling trying to elude us!!!!!!! We had 10bites from the 00s to the time we turned in 06.50 or about 3miles north of Big Sable Point in about 400ft. of water when we turned. The south troll was a rough ride and the fish didn't seem to want to bite on it. About the time we started to pull though we hit a few just north of Big Sable Point in 350ft. of water which were coho only allowing us to boat 1 of them. The crew again were happy to be aboard and were a hardy bunch. Only a few dates left for the last week of July as well as only a few dates left for the whole month of August so drop me a line and get on the book for an adventure of a lifetime aboard the Lie-A-Lot.

Fishing started out tougher today. We set lines in front of the Sable River in 01s in about 200ft. of water and trolled north. We only had two bites when we reached Big Sable Point, both of which got away. I put the boat on a west troll and we headed out. We hit a triple when we crossed over the 35 line in about 350ft. of water getting all of them. We just continued with that troll the rest of the day, going west and east off of the point. The steelhead were biting again on top unlike the past 3 days, which was exciting. A yeck fireball was the bait of choice on a five color lead core. Also productive was a 300 copper with a bloody nose regular size moonshine. Our two out and down, downriggers were also productive with yeck jarreds and yeck lightning lures.

Fishing was tough today--we headed way out and south. For the last week we had been going north in front of the Big Sable Point Lighthouse and had limited success on some days and very good on others. We decided because alot of others had been catching in the 54s and 40s to the 44s west to give it a try. The family had a good time even though only a few fish were captured and a few eluded us. The weather was very nice with completely calm seas and I'm sure this did not help us any either, but it was a beautiful day on the lake!

Fishing was good today. We fished again up north along the bank (Big Point Sable). We cruised out to the 34.00 line west and the 01.50 line north out in about 180ft of water. Set our lines which included two high dipsey diver lines out 180 with glow spin doctors and big water meat rigs. Low dipsey divers were also spin doctors in the 10" variety with big water meat rigs. We had a 10" black and glow spin doctor on the middle downrigger with a moo moo big water meat rig, and yeck jarred and yeck double orange crush spoons stacked on both outside downriggers. Our planer boards were 5 color lead cores 10 color lead cores and 300 coppers on both sides with bright colored spoons. We trolled to the north west until we turned in 06.00 and the 38.50s. The coho were biting and letting go so the action was pretty hot with about half of the fish that bit actually coming to the net and cooler. The book is getting very full with a few time frames still open in the next two weeks I look forward to hearing from you to book your adventure aboard the LIE A LOT!

Salmon fishing here has been somewhat difficult but catch rates are improving. Try 40 to 100 feet down in 120 to 240 feet of water with orange spoons and green flies. Lake trout were caught by those bouncing cowbells or dodgers off the bottom.

Fishing started out slow this morning. We started out again in 100ft. of water just south of Big Point Sable and trolled about 2 miles past the point north. We had all of our lines in and where ready for action when the big one hit on the center rigger at 80ft. down. The down rigger had a 10” tuxedo spin doctor with a big water tackle moo moo meat rig. The fish ran almost all line out of the reel before the young man could turn him around and pull him in. I noticed why when I saw the beautiful 27# king salmon behind the boat. We continued on north and about a half mile past the point, boated the 15# lake trout on a tin can dodger and chartreuse spin and glow on the bottom. We then boated a nice king salmon and hit another on our turn these biting on a full core with a mini spin doctor in blue bubble color (blue and glow) with a blue and glow Dreamweaver fly. The second one came on a 400’ copper with a blue bubble 8” spin doctor and cold steel meat rig. The south troll was less productive only taking one coho. They had enough fish to eat so we headed in. The fish sure are bigger this year. Maybe a few less, but that fish made me a believer. There definitely getting bigger!

Fishing again was good. Started just south of the bathhouse in front of the Sable River. Started the morning out with all meat rigs and caught a few kings rite off the bat. Fishing slowed down and I put a dodger and spin and glow on the bottom for Lake Trout. This worked well all day long. We trolled north to about a mile and a half past Big Point Sable, then turned around and trolled back to our starting point which was 00.50 south (south of Sable river) and back to the point. We stayed all day in about 100-125ft. of water. The one coho came on a full core (10 colors) with a mini spin doctor and green seaweed fly. I still have Thursday and Sunday available in the mornings, hope to here from you soon.

Saturday morning started out a bit tougher than yesterday. We did not have any fish or bites on our whole first past from the mouth of the Sable river to Big Point Sable. As we started out turn though about 8a.m. the fish got more active and the we battled a couple of very nice kings. The first one in the boat weighed in at 23.5# and as soon as we netted that one on a 300’ copper line with a cold steel meat rig and blue bubble meat rig and let in back out, it went again. This time it was a 20# king that battled all the way to the end. Around down rigger cables and eventually we captured it. The lake tout soon followed. We caught most of them towards the bottom in 120’ of water on the meat rigs and a tin can dodger and chartreuse spin and glow on the corner down rigger. The family had an great time and cant wait to do it again. I have a few days open next week and the fishing is really starting to heat up. Give me a call and enjoy an adventure aboard the Lie-A-Lot.

Fished Saturday morning up North in front of Big Point Sable. The salmon had been hard to find but, have in the last few days shown up! Took all our fish in 110-130ft. of water. Started out early running meat rigs on our divers and on the center downrigger. These caught the bigger fish early, then slowed down. As the sun came up the planer boards went out up high in the water column and produced a few nice Rainbow trout (steelhead). We also dropped our dipsy divers back and put the center meat rig down deeper and caught the Laker trout. The family had a great trip aboard the Lie-A-Lot! Hope to hear from you soon to get in on these big Salmon. The two big ones weighed in at just over 20# and 21#

Fishing in the afternoon was a bit slower than the morning. We were still able to catch some real nice fish including these 20# king salmon. We fished again in front of Big Point Sable as we had done in the morning in the same 110-130 of water. The fish we were marking were down on the bottom because the south winds were pushing the warm water in. The same meat rigs stayed on the high and low dipsey divers and the center downrigger. It was a little bit rougher this evening and the higher steelhead were not active. We set up about 01 and 32.50 and took it north just past the 04s (past Big Point Sable) and turned around and trolled back to the 00s. The guys have been coming back a few years now and very much enjoyed the battle that ensued with these big kings!

Took out an always welcomed friend Joe Yob from Florida. Fishing was good today. Fished in front of Big Point Sauble in 220ft. out to 280ft. Fish were biting primarily down deep, 120down and 170down were best with big water meat rigs. Best were the uv on ice behind a dreamweaver blue bubble spin doctor. We did though catch the two smaller salmon on a five color lead core with a yeck jarred. GREAT to see the kings have arrived. These fish fought to the very end, jumping, swimming around downriggers behind the boat, It was a very enjoyable time out on the water. Book your charter soon don't miss out on this hot spring, early summer fishing!!!!

Well Spring is here and thus the Great Lakes are starting to produce Fish!!!!!!!! The boats are not in yet. The boat launches are plugged with ice still, but the area breakwalls are starting to produce beautiful Brown Trout and Steelhead! My cousin (Gary Olson) fished yesterday out of Ludington on the south breakwall and did very well. He and his fishing partner were able to land 5 Brown trout and 2 Steelhead (Rainbow Trout). The winds where right and the warm river water had blown around the breakwall giving them ideal fishing conditions. This does happen quite often and depending on which way the warm water is traveling either breakwall can be very good fishing! So get your gear ready pack a sandwich Spring has sprung!!!!!!!!!!!!!
